Meet Babylon Alderson, a young and inspiring leader from the Murrumburr clan in the Yellow Waters region of Australia. She is the daughter of Phillip Alderson, a respected family in her community. Babylon is part of the next generation nurturing and guiding future leaders in her region.

Growing up, Babylon was immersed in the rich traditions of her people, learning traditional hunting, bushfood gathering, and cultural practices. But she's not just about tradition – Babylon is also tech-savvy and has been building a positive social

media presence in her spare time.

What sets Babylon apart is her warm- hearted nature, kindness, intelligence, and a great sense of humour. Her community recognises her for these qualities, making her a beloved figure in her clan. Babylon's parents, Aunties, mentors, and community members have always encouraged her to pursue education and training across a wide range of subjects. Over the past four years, she has undertaken various courses and training programs, including:

- Babylon attended Haileybury Rendall School, one of Darwin's most prestigious schools.

- She completed army cadet training in all three branches of the military: Army, Navy, and Airforce.

- Babylon gained computer skills through training.

- She also received training in culinary arts, retail, and mechanics.

- While working at Cooinda Lodge Resort in the Grounds department, Babylon studied horticulture and land management, including weed control, chainsaw operation, forklift operation, and obtained First Aid training.

- Babylon proudly holds a tour guide certificate from Charles Darwin University for "Kakadu Knowledge".

Currently, Babylon works in the Retail Department at Warradjan Cultural Centre's gift shop and gallery, where she continues to showcase her dedication to preserving and sharing her culture with others.

Babylon Alderson is a shining example for young First Nations people in Australia, demonstrating that a strong connection to tradition can be combined with modern skills and knowledge to become a leader and make a positive impact on her community and beyond. She is an inspiration to all who know her, and her journey is a testament to the endless possibilities for the future generation.
