For over 40 years, WorldSkills primary method of supporting skills excellence in Australia has been through our skills competitions. These competitions not only showcase the talents of our participants but also drive the development of world-class skills and trades across the nation.
ISACNT is proud to support WorldSkills and the upcoming WorldSkills Australia National Championships, taking place in Brisbane in June 2025. As part of our commitment to fostering excellence in vocational education and training, we actively collaborate with WorldSkills to provide opportunities for young professionals to showcase their talents on a national stage.
The National Championships bring together the best and brightest skilled competitors from across Australia, offering a platform to demonstrate industry excellence and innovation. ISACNT supports our Northern Territory participants as they prepare to compete, gain valuable experience, and represent our region with pride.

WorldSkills Australia is a perfect opportunity for the students to showcase their talents, gain valuable experience, and set themselves up for future success. Serving as a judge in such a prestigious competition has improved my professional’s reputation and credibility within the industry. It is a rewarding experience to mentor and support the next generation of skilled professionals and helping them in their quest to recognition and glory.
By being a judge I have assisted professionals to connect with other experts in their field, fostering valuable relationships and collaborations. I also get first hand experience of the innovative techniques and solutions from competitors, which inspire new ideas and approaches in my own work. The position also allows me to stay updated with the latest industry standards and practices and to enhance my skills and knowledge.

Winner Open Business Competition - 2024 NT Regional Competition WorldSkills
The experience was both immersive and challenging, testing my business service capabilities across multiple domains, including creating complex documents, developing presentations, working with advanced spreadsheets, and crafting professional communications – all while meeting strict quality standards and deadlines. The competition was exceptionally well-organised, with expert judges providing valuable insights throughout. I am honoured to have won the business skills competition. This achievement validates my hard work and pushes me to continue striving for excellence, and I’m proud to have been part of such a prestigious event.
As a WorldSkills sponsor in 2023, Charles Darwin University has since received much interest for future competitions from students and teachers, which demonstrates to me that there is a thirst to strive for skills excellence and be recognised across Northern Territory, and possibly on the National stage. WorldSkills captures what we endeavour to instil within our educational journeys at Charles Darwin University; a positive experience, breaking down barriers, personal achievement and showcasing talent. We certainly hope that there will be more NT representatives at the next WorldSkills and there is no doubt that sponsorship helps achieve that.
It was a good chance to test my skills against the rest of Australia, I feel more confident in my skills and abilities after being put through my paces against the best from every other state. Though in the Territory we don’t use timber as much as they use it down south, it was still great to see what I could do over the three days.
